AN ARTICLE BY A FAN!!

48 HOURS

She titled the document on her phone “Nerve Wracking” and somehow her mind drifted to Wrecking then to the hit song Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus, at that instant she thought of him and how she felt betrayed by his actions but she still kissed her right wrist, where her wristwatch had been until a few minutes ago. She glanced back at the dining table, to set her eyes on the spot she kept the watch as a form of assurance of the burning flame she imagined he had for her.
Today had been bad, worse than yesterday and she thought of how tomorrow would be, Worse than today or Better should she decide to take charge of her life. He had not been in school today, and yesterday. The last time she had seen him was on Saturday and she dreamt of his face, she thought of the things he’d always say, she thought of him even more when everything in school brought back memories like how he’d send Mautin to get him food or how he’d make paper planes out of boredom and at that moment she knew a part of her was missing when he hadn’t shown up for school. It was the longest 10 hours of her life and she lived it to the fullest by sleeping, because her dreams brought her closer to him and even in her dreams he’d teased her, saying “Why are your lips like that?” and he was laughing, and she felt her lips move while she slept.
She missed him. She showed it yesterday and it was worse today but she made up her mind to make Tomorrow better, to show the world that she was-She is a fierce lion and can definitely do without him, even though she knew she was conflicted deep down and was somewhere in the middle.
She prayed, she prayed he’d show up tomorrow. A Wednesday, when she’d put on her short tennis skirt that shows off her long legs and she’d parade and blush at random things. Somehow she knew he wouldn’t come because their exams start tomorrow and he told everyone but her that he wouldn’t show up for the exams. She felt bad because he didn’t tell her anything about it and she had anticipated his presence on Monday, to tell him how she had braided her hair herself , show him the quotes she’d collected over the weekend, give him updates on the books she’d often wallow in, but she didn’t see him, thinking it was his regular late coming or perhaps his fever was back,. Later, she lost hope and drowned in her disappointment.
Dolapo, said he’d call at his place today, to tell him that she was missing him badly but she told him not to, because she didn’t want to look desperate before him, she didn’t want to lose her pride, she didn’t want to deplete her ego completely even though she wanted him more than ever because Absence they say makes the heart grow fonder, She begged Dolapo not to but she knew he’d go anyway.
And when he finally shows up, she’d be ready for him, the walls of her heart will be raised high while she unleashes her anger, her disappointment and her sadness. She would ask him “Why are you here? Because you feel pity for me and you have decided to grace me with your prescence or Because Dolapo told you to come?” but of course she knew he would never listen to anyone but himself and sometimes, her.
After unleashing, the walls would come crumbling and once again, her heart- left unguarded. She knew he had that power to break down the walls but she still loved been tough, looking tough.
She knew deep down that a day will come and so will her Revenge, breaking down in tears, she swore to make sure her Revenge will be served Cold.
